All the meters are accurate.  New electrolytic capacitor and protection diodes for the meter.  This 539C can be adjusted to work on 230 volts. Directions are in the manual.

No trick to use the jacks just plug in a multimeter or other accurate DCV digital meter in the 2mm sockets, red to positive and black to negative (bias set to read positive voltage although negative voltage is being applied), and it will read the actual DC bias voltage being applied. Same with the AC line jacks; just plug in a multimeter in the 2mm plugs, and it will read the actual AC voltage.
 
The multimeters seen in the pictures are not included and shown for demonstration only!
